Major House Renovation

An existing 1950’s villa underwent a complete transformation to suit the requirements of a new owner.  The property lies nestled in a lush, expansive garden; with views of Cape Town’s famous peaks and the Atlantic Ocean all around.  The house presents a formal black and white exterior to the outside world, but offers itself to creeping plants which will in time overgrow many of the white walls.

The inside is pure softness, with a luxurious palette of cream, limestone and oak that favours neutral sophistication and gentle textures over ostentation.

Natural light is the real animator.  Openings are carefully positioned to frame key views whilst maintaining privacy.  As the sun moves around the house, the mood and tone changes continually, from a cool morning green to a sun-baked afternoon gold.
